Pam Farber, RN, EMT-P
Pam works with us to provide information and summarize alerts, advisories, guidelines, and articles regarding flu and other infectious disease happenings across the United States, Canada and other countries. She has been an RN since 1982 and worked and specialized in maternal-child health (mostly labor & delivery and NICU). She has been a Firefighter/Paramedic since 1985/87 with extensive training and instructor status in bioterrorism, haz mat toxicology and mass casualty incidents. She spent 25 years as Paramedic Instructor teaching EMS (EMT & Paramedic) curriculum development, protocol & policy development, CQI and medical chart review, occupational health & infection control RN, Legal Liaison, and medical innovation for the department. She also served as volunteer faculty for the University of Miami’s Emergency Medical Training for 29 years.
Past chair and current member of IAED CBRN, Pam has been working with FirstWatch periodically since 2013 and since 2018 as a clinical advisor providing us with not only weekly flu status updates, but with other significant information and related articles. Pam’s areas of expertise include CQI and chart review, protocol and policy development, and health and safety of firefighters and EMS workers.
