Solutions Specialist – OCU Lead
As one of several software and data crunching pros who make up the Operational Support Technician team, Yvonne Stringer’s priority is being there for customers, day or night, to make sure they’re getting the most out of FirstWatch.
Yvonne brings extensive experience in both public safety and software to the role since joining FirstWatch in 2012.
She worked as an EMT and an ambulance dispatcher for 11 years in San Diego, followed by 15 years as a software test manager for a public safety communications firm. Combining the “people” side of public safety with the technological capabilities of software — particularly, the ability of data to give a more nuanced view of what’s happening in the field — is what attracts her to the work. “I love to gather information and see what it can tell us and how we can use it to improve processes and patient care,” she says.
When she’s not at work, you can usually find Yvonne driving her kids back and forth from dance class to karate and then golf in her fuchsia colored mom mini-van. She suffers from an addiction of collecting homeless animals and has been banned by her husband from visiting the animal shelters unsupervised. (She is currently under control with three dogs and three fish.) Her husband is proud of the fact that he taught their 205 pound English Mastiff a trick called “go wipe your mouth” where he goes into the kitchen and wipes his slobbery mouth on their kitchen dish towel. Yvonne has a crazy animal house.
“Yvonne is an extremely focused and detail oriented person. She continually assesses and strives to improve processes where needed. Yvonne brings a friendly can do attitude in all that she does and is always will to go the extra mile to help customers and team member alike.”
